Meet the Team
Jack Donahue is the founder, owner, and president of Donahue Real Estate Advisors. He holds the SIOR designation (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors®), a distinction earned by a small percentage of commercial real estate professionals nationwide. SIOR represents the highest level of professional competency, experience, and ethical standards in the industry, requiring proven transaction volume, rigorous peer review, and a commitment to ongoing education. For clients, this designation signals trusted advisory expertise, deep market knowledge, and an unwavering focus on fiduciary responsibility.
Prior to founding Donahue Real Estate Advisors, Jack began his career at the Pittsburgh office of Grubb & Ellis Company where he spent 15 years representing both landlords and tenants. Next was a stint in North Carolina with Highwoods Properties, a REIT headquartered in Raleigh which developed, owned, and leased its portfolio of class A office and flex/tech properties in and around the renowned Research Triangle Park. This was followed by a move back to Pittsburgh where he spent 10 years in the brokerage division of Oxford Development Company.
Since forming Donahue Real Estate Advisors in 2010, the firm has become one of the most respected independent tenant representation and real estate advisory firms in southwestern Pennsylvania. Jack has always instituted trust, integrity, and the highest ethical standards in the way he conducts business for his clients.
Jack is active in his community serving on the Board of Directors of the Ireland Institute of Pittsburgh and was recently elected to his second term on the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Pine, a suburb north of Pittsburgh.
Jack began his studies at the University of Dayton and earned a bachelor’s degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Jack and his wife live in Gibsonia, a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA. They have a blended family of three daughters and one son. He and his wife enjoy travel throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia. A supporter of multiple charitable organizations in the Pittsburgh area, Jack also is an avid trap shooter and fly fisherman.
Alex began his career at the Pittsburgh office of CBRE, where Alex provided management of real estate transaction activities on behalf of corporate clients. He currently works with Jack to implement strategies for new locations, disposition of surplus space, renewals, early lease termination, multi-market transactions and more.
Alex has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from American University and earned his MBA at Duquesne University.
Alex is a Pittsburgh native, and he is passionate about the region. He currently serves as the president of Pittsburgh Young Professionals, which focuses on fostering professional development and networking opportunities for the city’s emerging leaders. He is also an enthusiastic sports fan. Alex is an avid tennis and platform tennis player. He and his wife reside with their dog Louie in Hampton Township, a northern suburb of Pittsburgh.
